No Thanks USA - You Can Keep Black Friday...

Do you think that we buy more things that we really need each day?

- I think that we buy more things that we really need each day, just using different reasons, like: it is cheap, it fits me very well, it is a good deal, or just because of a good advertising.

Why do we, as a culture, feel compelled to buy things we don't need for survival?

- As a culture we feel compelled to buy things that we do not need for survival for having fun, fitting in with your friends, colleagues, or because of commercials and ads.

Do you think commercials and advertisements make us feel we need things when we really don't?

-Yes, I think that commercials and advertisements make as feel we need when we really don't. Ads drive our consumer culture, consistently turning “wants” into “needs” by telling as how important and good their products are and not telling about the bad part as in advertising how fresh is the water transported in plastic bottles, but not specifying how toxic those bottles are.

Why do you think our culture and media encourages us to buy things constantly?  Is this a good, bad or neutral thing? why?
- Our culture and media encourages as to buy things constantly because
I think is bad to buy thinks constantly that you do not need because there are environmental costs in each of these steps, like the destruction of therainforest to extract minerals, polluting byproducts made during an item’s manufacturing, the oil needed to transport it, or the landfill used to dispose of it.
